Easy Altered Frame

Today I'm sharing an altered frame I made a while ago, but haven't posted yet.  I love to use my scrapbook supplies for home decor.  These $1.00 frames from Michaels are fun, fast, and easy to make and look great when they're done.  Wouldn't these make great gifts?!
I used patterned paper from Creative Memories for this sweet frame.  The rhinestone swirls are from Prima.  I made the flower by fan folding a strip of paper.  Just cut a strip of paper, use decorative edge scissors on one long side of the paper, ink that edge, then fan-fold it and glue the edges together.  Flatten it to form a flower and glue a button or something pretty in the center.  Really fun and easy!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

What can you make with a yard of fabric?

Today's post is a little different than my norm.  Instead of a scrappy post, I'm sharing a few purses that I made in the last few weeks.  The pattern for these came from this book: One-Yard Wonders: 101 Sewing Fabric Projects.  The fabric for this purse is from Hobby Lobby:

For my next purse, I decided to go with more classic colors.  This fabric is from my local quilting store.  The flowers are from Bo Bunny.  (Just click on the pictures for a close-up.)
If you enjoy sewing, try your hand at making a new purse!  They really are fun to make!!  Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Precious and Few are Friends Like You!

My friend, Pam, is at home recovering from knee surgery, and today is her birthday. Here is the card I'm sending to her:

I was inspired to experiment with chipboard hearts after I saw one on Melissa Phillips' blog (March 1, 2011 post).  I had to try one or two of my own!  I am so pleased with how my chipboard heart turned out and designed my card around the heart.  (For a close up, just click on the pictures.)  I decided to send it to Pam for her birthday.  The inside sentiment says, "Precious and Few are Friends Like You".

I used a Hot Hues kraft card, Girl's Paperie Paper Girl patterned papers, My Mind's Eye Stella Rose Hattie "Remember" stamps, Maya Road mini rose trim,  adorable brown ruffled ribbon from Hobby Lobby, and some pink velvet ribbon from my stash.  Such a fun card to make!  Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

World Down Syndrome Day

As I said in a previous post, one of my favorite blogs is Everything and Nothing from Essex.  My friend, Deanna Smith, beautifully writes about her life with her husband and her beautiful daughter, Addison.  Precious little Addison was perfectly designed by God with an extra chromosome (Down Syndrome).   I encourage you to read Deanna's post from Sunday, March 20, where she describes her intense love for Addison exactly as God made her.  Deanna's blog will challenge you to think differently about others who may be different in some way than what the world considers "normal".  Here is a picture of Addison from the mini-album I made for Deanna.
Addison has the biggest smile I've ever seen!  You will fall in love with her when you see her on Deanna's blog.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Butter Toffee Coffee Anyone?

Thanks for stopping by my blog for a cup of coffee!! ;)  I have a fun card to share today.  The pattered paper is from the My Mind's Eye Tres Jolie collection.  Sadly, this paper is now retired.  The cute little tea cup is a chipboard embellishment from Crate Paper's Restoration collection.  (Can you tell that these are two of my favorite scrapbook companies.)  The pearls are from Prima Marketing, and the sentiment is a stamp from Inkadinkadoo.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch the solid-colored strip of paper.  Click on the pictures for a close up of the details.

I am planning to have a sweet give-away very soon!  Check back on Friday for all of the details.  All you will have to do is leave a comment on my blog for a chance to win some NICE scrapbooking goodies.  I'll be back in on Friday with pics of the goodies and more details!  See you soon!
