Still Crate Paper Crazy!!

I needed a FAST birthday card for my mom, so got out one of my favorite papers again...Crate Paper Restoration papers and chipboard embellishments.  Take a look...

The beautiful chipboard frame is from Crate Paper.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from Making Memories.  The sweet little dress form and spool of thread are mini-chipboard pieces from Maya Road.  I covered them with Crate Paper and trimmed them out with my exact-o knife.  I added a pearl "necklace" to the dress form, and some "thread" to my spool.  The lovely lace is from Wal-Mart.  Well, that's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by.  I'd love for you to leave me a comment and let me know you were here!

Baby Girl Mini Album

I have been following the blog Everything and Nothing from Essex for almost a year now, and I love it!  In fact, my nine year old daughter Anna loves it, too!  Deanna Smith writes about her life with her husband and her beautiful 1 year-old baby girl, Addison.  Anna and I have fallen in love with Addison as we read about her and watch her grow on the blog.  I decided that it would be fun to make a mini album about Addison and send it to Deanna as a gift.  I used the My Mind's Eye Fine & Dandy Tickled Pink chipboard album.  Here is the finished album.  (Click on any of the pictures to get a close up.)

I used mostly My Mind's Eye Papers from the Quite Contrary, Ooh La La, and Penny Lane collections.  I was trying to use papers that I had on hand, and I love how the colors coordinate so nicely!
Isn't Addison cute having her cucumber facial?!  Love this picture!!  I used some Basic Grey Romani paper here and a Martha Stewart heart border punch.

Don't you just love Prima flowers?!
That look is priceless!
On many of the pages, I left journaling spots for Deanna to record Addison's age, the date, and any special details about the photo that she wants to add.  Along with the album, I sent Deanna an archival quality pen for her journaling.
Look at this little Sweetheart!

This little Maya Road Kraft envelope provides a place to tuck little love notes from Mom and Dad to sweet Addison.  Someday, Addison can go back and read those notes from her parents.
The back of the envelope is the perfect place to put a picture of Addison and her daddy out sledding!
This page says "Let's Fly" because Addison's daddy taught her how to "fly".  One day during a therapy session, Addison decided that it was time to fly (when it really wasn't), so she has her hand up in the air ready to fly.  I love this picture!

This scalloped chipboard page is one from my stash that I added to the album so I could fit more pictures in it.  The journaling card below is from Fancy Pants Wishful Thinking line.

I made a little envelope to add a few more pictures to the album.
For the last two pages, I used Fancy Pants Christmas Magic paper collection.  I wanted paper that looked "snowy" to match these pictures of Addison out playing in the Vermont snow with her daddy.

Mini albums are a great way for friends to quickly flip through photos of your kids or an event, without making them look through page after page of layouts in a 12x12 album.  Well, thanks for checking out my blog!!

Crate Paper Crazy!

I am crazy about Crate Paper's Restoration line of papers and embellishments.  This line is just beautiful and definitely has a vintage look and feel to it!   It's the paper I used on this first card.  I also used some Melissa Frances lace trim, Martha Stewart doily tag, and a Prima flower.  I love this pink and turquoise color combination!  (Just click on the pictures for a close up.)  I also made some cute little paper sack pockets and dressed them up with the Restoration line.  Take a look at them, here.

The next card uses My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary and Ooh La La papers and a MME Lost and Found die cut.  The flower is from Prima.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!  Have a great day!

Encouragement

One way that I like to be an encouragement to others is through cards.  I enjoy making cards to tell others that I'm thinking of them, praying for them, or thanking them for an act of kindness they have done.  Today I'm sharing a few cards I just finished.

This first card uses My Mind's Eye 29th Street Market line for the background paper.  The deep turquoise scalloped paper is from K & Company's Margo line.  The sweet little sentiment is a stamp from Basic Grey, and the rosebud flowers are from Michaels.

The next card is made from the Scarlett collection by Glitz Designs.  The "thank you" stamp is from Making Memories.

I'll be back soon to share a few more cards.  Thanks for looking!
