Valentine Treat Bags

I thought it would be fun to make some little Valentine Treats to share with my Bible Study class tomorrow.  I like to use my scrappy supplies to make cards and gifts to encourage others.  Inside these treat bags are glassine bags filled with chewy cinnamon hearts.
I LOVE all kinds of paper crafts!  Card making, scrapbooking, altered projects! And I love exploring other papercrafting blogs.  I am simply in awe of talented women like Melissa Phillips.  In fact, Melissa is my absolute favorite blogger in the paper crafting world.  My little treat "bags" were inspired by Melissa's Valentine Treat Envelopes.  If you haven't seen her work, you MUST visit her blog!
These bags are just folded pieces of paper.  I used a Martha Stewart heart border punch at the top of each bag.  The papers include Basic Grey Kissing Booth and Bittersweet, Crate Paper Paper Heart Collection, Echo Park Yours Truly, and Little Yellow Bicycle Love Letters.  Embellishments include    K & Company, Making Memories, and The Paper Studio.  I punched holes at the top of each bag and used sheer ribbon to make "handles" for my bags.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Special Friend

Welcome to my second Mojo Monday 224 entry.  Here again is this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

Once again I used My Mind's Eye papers (Quite Contrary and Lost and Found Two).  Seriously, I just love MME!!  I love the weight and texture of their papers and their designs are beautiful and even papers from different lines coordinate beautifully together!  For this second card, I was stumped as to what kind of  round embellishment to use.  Then I thought about making a folded rosette!!  I LOVE how the rosette turned out!
While searching through my punches, this square "inchie" punch with pretty edges caught my eye.  It's from Creative Memories, and I think I've only used it once.  I love how the punched square looks on the rosette!
The adorable rose ticket is from Made by Janet, the sentiment is Inkadinkadoo, and the paper border across the middle is from Girl's Paperie.  Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  :)

Mojo Monday 224

Finally... a new card!  I have been itching to do some papercrafting!!  I decided to MAKE time for doing something I love- making cards, layouts, and other scrappy things!  For inspiration, I used a card sketch from Mojo Monday 224:

Here is my take on this week's sketch:
I LOVE My Mind's Eye paper and embellishments!  I used the Lost & Found Two "Sunshine" 6x6 Paper Pad for this card.
Isn't this little bird cage sweet?  That's also from the MME Lost & Found Two collection.
My other supplies include cardstock: (Core'dinations Black Magic Collection), sentiment stamps: (Inkadinkado and Unity Stamp Company), metal clock embellishment: (Bo Bunny), ribbon: (May Arts), Stickles: (Ranger).  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  I'd love for you to leave me a comment!

Altered Christmas Frame

I realize that Christmas is over, but I wanted to share this altered picture frame I made.

I started with a $1 frames from Michaels and painted the back and all of the edges with white paint.  I used this beautiful Vinage Holiday paper from Daisy D's to cover the frame.  I love it!  (Unfortunately, I believe that Daisy D's is out of business.)  I tied a pretty piece of ribbon around the bottom of the frame, then hot glued on a few sprigs from a Christmas garland- also from Michaels.  The pretty gem in the center of the bow is a brad from K & Company.  I love these simple frames, and they make great gifts!  Thanks for stopping by today!!

More ruffled scarves!

I've been shopping and sewing!!  I have three new scarves to share today.  The first scarf is a beautiful burnt orange with a bit of glimmer to it.  It's really very pretty!  (I know the color doesn't show up well in my pictures.)

Here's a close up to show you the glimmery-ness!
The next scarf has shades of green and brown all running together.  Almost a camouflage look to it.

This last scarf is my newest creation!  I found this beautiful ruffled fabric at a local fabric store.  It comes in many gorgeous colors, but I chose a dark gray.  This scarf is 6.5"wide x 70"long.  I think it's beautiful!

If you're interested in purchasing any scarves please let me know.  The top two gathered scarves are $12 each, the gray ruffled scarf is $14.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Ruffled Scarves Anyone?

Recently, I searched for handmade scarves on Pinterest, and found a slew of them!  Beautiful scarves in all colors and styles!  I decided to try my hand at making a few for myself, and maybe even for Christmas gifts.  Take a look at my first two scarves.  I love this black and gray scarf:
I "ruffled" these scarves using my sewing machine.  They are approximately 60-70 inches finished length.
This one is a brown and gold stripe:

I think I love this scarf trend!  A scarf can really make an outfit complete.  I have lots of extra fabric, and I'm planning to make many more of these scarves.  I'll be posting pics of two more colors soon.

If you're interested in purchasing one or more of these scarves for yourself or to give as a gift, please contact me by e-mail:  pelpshd@earthlink.net.  Cost is $12 per scarf plus shipping.  I will calculate the exact shipping cost based on the weight of your package and your zip code.  Quantities are limited, so please don't wait to contact me.  Payment must be made by PayPal if I am shipping your order.  (If you live in the Milwaukee area, we can make other arrangements for delivery and payment.)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

You're So Sweet!

My oldest son and his wife recently got a sweet little Pomeranian dog named Tessa.  She had been left at the Humane Society by her owners, who decided they didn't want to use her for breeding anymore.  A few weeks ago Jonathan and Megan brought Tessa over to meet the rest of the family, including our dog Muffin.  Muffin is the dog in the first photo with my husband, and Tessa is in the two bottom photos with my daughter Anna.  Tessa is a very sweet little lady!  (Click on the pics for a close up.)
I used this sketch from Sketchy Thursdays September 8 Sketch Challenge for my inspiration:
I used the Crate Paper Farmhouse collection for this layout.  I also used some chipboard elements from My Mind's Eye (in the picture below), and some epoxy flowers from Making Memories.
